Lago Vista Treatment plant was one of the first uses of carbon fiber for controlling a lack of rebar placement in a new construction project. One of the main advantages of the using composites vs traditional construction methods is the ability to add large amounts of reinforcement and not loose and wall space. This is imperative in treatment facilities where scuppers and other moving parts would potentially hit those objects. A key success component of this project is the ability to do the work and keep the facility operational.
