The Tyfo Fiberwrap system is designed to add strength and ductility to existing columns using high strength FRP. Containment of the concrete may be accomplished by the wrap alone or in conjunction with post-tensioning technique utilizing grout, injected under pressure, between the column and the composite shell. The amount of coverage and thickness of the composite jacket are determined by the design if the engineer on a project-by-project basis. Each structure has different design criteria and existing conditions which require different levels of confinement.

Damaged columns can be repaired using Fiberwrap techniques. In these cases an epoxy grout is used to fill and seal the damaged portions of the column. The repair is completed using normal Tyfo wrapping procedures.

The system is designed to be easily installed in space confined areas, incorporate architectural finishes, and greatly increases vertical load capacity.
