Project challenge
The project required both repair of designated concrete areas and preparation for the carbon fiber system. These tasks had to be coordinated because the reinforcement depended on a suitable receiving surface. Access to the top and bottom of the slab was included in the preparation scope, adding another interface to the repair sequence.
Project approach
Delta’s scope included staging and system scaffolding, followed by chipping and patching at the drawing-defined locations. Concrete surface preparation covered the designated top and bottom slab areas before composite application. Reinforcement was to follow the construction drawings and system shop drawings. The repair report provided the basis for identifying the areas of work, while the composite package established the reinforcement layout.
Delivery and coordination
The scope was prepared for 2201 Main, LLC. Delta included product and system submittals as well as mobilization of the resources needed for the repair. Removal of interfering services or coatings was a readiness consideration where applicable. The sequence connected concrete patching, access to the receiving surfaces and installation of the carbon fiber system.
