Delta Structural Technology completed a composite pipe-protection scope for the Third Garland Connection Creek stabilization project. Developed for Solid Bridge Construction, the work used an external carbon fiber wrap for impact protection. The installation package combined preparation of the receiving surface, application of the specified composite system and a UV-protective paint finish.

Project challenge
The project required protection around the exterior of a pipe within the creek-stabilization scope. The reinforcement had to be laid out along the designated pipe length and fitted to its curved surface. The stated function was external impact protection, making the treatment different from a concrete beam-strengthening or internal pipe-lining project.
Project approach
Delta’s proposal specified two layers of Tyfo carbon fiber in accordance with the project requirements. The planned sequence included procurement after submittal approval, protection of adjacent areas where needed, surface preparation and layout of the wrap. Composite placement followed the engineer-approved shop drawings. UV paint was identified as a separate finishing element after the reinforcement installation.
Delivery and coordination
System submittals connected the specified wrap to material procurement and field layout. Solid Bridge Construction was the contractor identified in the project scope. The work required coordination of the pipe receiving surface and access to the exterior treatment area. The proposal separated preparation, composite installation and finishing, making each stage visible within the overall protective scope.
Project significance
This project illustrates carbon fiber used as part of an external protection strategy for utility infrastructure. Its distinguishing characteristic is the impact-protection objective for a pipe associated with creek stabilization. The case connects a specified multilayer wrap with the practical requirements of curved-surface preparation and exterior finishing.
